In some cases, this is to fix bugs. In others, it is to add new features or even change the behavior of the game. Chocolate Doom is different, in that the focus is on creating a maintained version of Doom that looks, feels and behaves exactly like the original DOS version of Doom. Originally just a port of the Doom source code, the purpose of the project has grown to include ports of Heretic, Hexen and Strife, other commercial games that were based on the Doom engine. There are a number of reasons for having a port which behaves like the DOS version: * Just Doom. No more. No less. * DOS is dead. The official Windows port has serious bugs. Chocolate Doom is a more accurate port that runs correctly on Windows and other operating systems. * Demo compatibility. Chocolate Doom maintains demo compatibility. * Testing. A WAD will work on all ports << DocFiles: AUTHORS COPYING ChangeLog HACKING INSTALL NEWS NOT-BUGS PHILOSOPHY README README.Music README.Strife TODO BuildDepends: << libsamplerate0-dev (>= 0.1.9-1), libpng16, sdl, sdl-mixer, sdl-net, sdl-sound-bin << Depends: << libsamplerate0-shlibs (>= 0.1.9-1), libpng16-shlibs, sdl-mixer-shlibs, sdl-net-shlibs, sdl-sound-shlibs, sdl-shlibs << ConfigureParams: --disable-sdltest --enable-dependency-tracking --with-sdl-exec-prefix=%p CompileScript: << %{default_script} fink-package-precedence . << # dmacks: added upstream workaround for new libsamplerate (and dep on # it just to be safe) # https://github.com/chocolate-doom/chocolate-doom/commit/15b8e6e1e47e4f733f862c16a5c18a3485bd22d4 PatchFile: %n.patch PatchFile-MD5: 3d5aa9ffd0df4e1d83514760408b9758 PatchScript:<< %{default_script} perl -pi -e 's,\$\(prefix\)\/games,\$\(prefix\)\/bin,g' src/setup/Makefile.in perl -pi -e 's,\$\{exec_prefix\}\/games,\$\{exec_prefix\}\/bin,g' src/Makefile.in <<
